Fresh articles Rumor: HTC Working on a Dual Boot Android/Windows Phone Device ————————— The pending buyout of Nokia’s handset division by Microsoft plus the already over 80 percent market share that Nokia has on the Windows Phone market means Microsoft is going to have to get creative to keep manufacturers on board. According to rumors they have already started the conversation with long time Windows Phone partner HTC. According to sources in the know at Bloomberg; Terry Myerson (EVP of Operating Systems at Microsoft) asked HTC if they could ”load Windows Phone as a second option on handsets running Android”. Plus there is word coming from a post at Android Central that: ”We’ve heard from our own sources that HTC has indeed been looking at the engineering cost of making an Android/Windows Phone dual-booting handset a reality.” While a dual boot device may cost a little more up front if feasible this device could possibly end up saving HTC in the end. There would be two OS on this device so it would have to have at least 32GB of internal storage on it to make it useful but I really don’t think that would that big of a hurdle to cross. I will be watching this develop with interest as the ability to dual boot would make this HTC device a must have in my mind.
